Subway Restaurant at 6402 Victoria Drive, Vancouver is recognized for their community and neighbourly contributions to South Vancouver Neighbourhood House (SVNH).
In the last three years, Subway has provided fundraiser donations (gift cards) and supplemented meals with free treats and snacks for program participants.
Their kindness and generosity is demonstrated by their warmth, willingness to help, and connection with multiple people.
They remember faces and names, which makes such a difference, not only for those new to Canada, but for those who live and work within the neighbourhood.
Many of the participants that access SVNH programs come to the programs for many reasons (social connection, settlement services, rebuilding lives, community engagement, etc.). The owners of Subway understand the complexities of being a newcomer.
Their kindness has always been shown through their neighbourly support in a variety of our programs (i.e. seniors, youth, settlement, childcare, etc.) and their welcoming demeanour.
Subway’s owners are a testimony of Canadian culture (warm, open, friendly, etc.) and neighbourly spirit!
